Tell EPA Administrator Pruitt: Don't ignore the science on chlorpyrifos
To EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt:
As you know, the EPA proposed a ban on the harmful insecticide chlorpyrifos, which has been definitively linked to brain and nervous system damage. The EPA's own experts deemed chlorpyrifos unsafe in 2016, and your agency was on track to ban the insecticide and protect consumers and farmworkers across the country.
Your recent decision not to ban chlorpyrifos directly contradicts your own agency's scientific findings on the danger of this insecticide. The rejection of the science on chlorpyrifos will have crucial implications for public health. Please reconsider your decision, and protect public health by banning chlorpyrifos.
