When we helped create the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the wake of the Great Recession, it was to make sure the big banks and credit card companies that brought our economy to its knees could never do it again.

Yet Wall Street and their allies are trying to defund and even destroy the CFPB, which has returned nearly $12 billion to consumers wronged by illegal practices.
